SalSa Film Festival 2026 · Closing Night

Images Without Words. Music Without Borders.

On 14 November at 7:30 pm, we celebrate the closing of this year's SalSa Film Festival at CineStar Weimar. On this special evening, the festival's award-winning films will be shown once more on the big screen, and this year's prizes will be presented.

The evening's music is provided by con:trust® – Marius Staible and Daniel Roth. Founded in Weimar in 2016, the accordion duo moves with great musical openness between classical, contemporary music, jazz, world music and their own compositions. In doing so, the two musicians continually rediscover the sonic possibilities of the accordion and bring different musical worlds together.

At the close of SalSa 2026, film and music meet in a shared space – images without words, music without borders.

con:trust has received numerous awards for their artistic work. In 2022, the duo received the Franz Liszt Prize, followed by the John Cage Award in 2025. Alongside their work as a duo, Marius Staible and Daniel Roth are also active as composers and music educators.
