We believe cinema is a universal language – one that speaks through image, rhythm and emotion before any words are needed.

At SalSa, we celebrate films that create meaning without relying on dialogue, and that make room for connection, empathy and mutual understanding across cultures and audiences. SalSa's mission is to support independent filmmakers and to bring dialogue-free films to a broad and diverse audience.

The festival offers an inclusive space for people of every age, background and language – which also allows deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences to engage fully with the films.

Our aim is to create accessible, human-centred and inspiring cinematic experiences – experiences that don't need to be heard, but are meant to be seen and felt.
